Green Bay-based Associated Bank, which has expressed a desire to become a Top 10 bank in the Chicago area, is out looking for deposits in the Windy City.
An advertisement in the Chicago Tribune proclaims that Associated, which currently ranks 24th in Chicago-area deposits, will give $150 to new customers open a checking account with $100.
Here’s the fine print on the offer:
Consumers must open a personal checking account, order checks and do at least five debit-card transactions to receive $50; enroll in online bill pay and make at least three transactions to get $50; and have a recurring direct deposit of at least $100 to get $50.
The bonus will be deposited into the new account within 100 days, and the checking account must remain open and active with at least five transactions monthly to get a bonus payment.
- And, oh, you’re likely to get a 1099 tax form.
